Gosport MP, Caroline Dinenage, has marked International Women’s Day 2021 with a free webinar for local residents to learn more about finding their feet in business.

In partnership with TVs Alison Cork and Make It Your Business, Caroline was joined by local entrepreneurs Katie Fairhall (of Katie Bakes) and Freya Derrick (of Hopscotch Day Nurseries) who shared their stories of struggle and triumph in the world of business.

The event ended in an active Q&A discussion about the importance of creating opportunities for women in business as well as Government support for our SMEs.

Commenting, Caroline said:

“I am enormously grateful and so inspired after hearing from our local Gosport business brains about their stories of struggle and triumph.

As someone who started their own business at 19 and ran it for 20 years I know how tough times can be and today’s event showcased the honest accounts of local women making it in the world of business.

My huge thanks to everyone for taking part.”

Alison Cork said:

“It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Caroline Dinenage MP today, to listen to the inspiring stories of entrepreneurs Freya Derrick and Katie Fairhall, and to discuss the challenges and rewards of running a small business.

It’s a win win for the country and the economy to encourage more women to start their own business.”
