Dame Caroline Dinenage, MP for Gosport, is set to welcome Veterans’ Affairs Minister, the Rt. Hon. Johnny Mercer MP to Gosport on Thursday 23rd November.

The Minister will visit a number of organisations in the constituency, meeting with members of the veteran’s community, and support organisations.

Gosport has the highest proportion of veterans compared to any other constituency in the England & Wales, at 12.5%. The visit will be an important opportunity to meet several veteran-run businesses including Explorer Coffees, Powder Monkey, Solent Mobility, RE5 Customs, Port and Lemon & Tin Trousers.

Minister Johnny Mercer will also visit FirstLight Trust, who provide café hubs for support and a community network of veterans in Gosport. He will also meet with Climb2Recovery who provide climbing courses for veterans, improving physical and mental well-being.

Commenting on the upcoming visit, Caroline said:

“I’m really looking forward to showing Veterans’ Minister Johnny Mercer around some fantastic veterans support organisations in the Gosport constituency.

“As we know, Gosport has the highest proportion of veterans in any constituency in England and Wales at 12.5%. This is a great way for us to show the Minister how organisations in the community can come together to support their veterans.”
