Gosport MP, Caroline Dinenage, has visited Gosport Voluntary Action today to mark Volunteers Week which takes place until 7th June.
Gosport Voluntary Action is the umbrella voluntary body for Gosport and surrounding areas. They provide help and support to over 200 local, voluntary and community groups in the Borough and aim to support local people, to provide services and help to residents so that they can lead healthy and enjoyable lives.
After the visit, Caroline said:
"This week it has been great to hear about the work of our local volunteers.
“Volunteers are so important to the work of charities and organisations – and we are lucky to have such a strong body of volunteers in Gosport, Stubbington, Lee-on-the-Solent and Hill Head who give up so much of their time to help other people in our area and give back to our local community.”
Earlier this week, Caroline launched her Volunteers Week campaign across her social media platforms. The campaign will see volunteers and voluntary organisations taking over Caroline’s social media platforms to talk about their experiences.
