Local MP, Caroline Dinenage, is running a social media campaign to help spread cheer throughout the Gosport Constituency during the outbreak of Covid-19. Given that the Government has confirmed that there will be a three week extension to lockdown measures, the campaign will run throughout April into May to brings some positivity while residents remain in isolation and socially distancing.
There are some excellent rainbow drawings by local children on display in windows and driveways across the Constituency, designed to cheer passers-by and show support for the community and the NHS. Having been struck by the positivity of these artworks Caroline decided that they deserved a wider audience. She invited residents on her Facebook page to send her photos of their rainbow artwork, over 40 households have so far responded. From this evening, she will be posting two images a day on her social media to add a positive boost and ensure that lots of local people get to benefit from the rainbow pictures from across the local area.
Caroline commented:
“There are some fantastic rainbow images in windows and driveways across our area that are spreading cheer and happiness to people that live nearby. It does seem a shame these can’t be enjoyed by more people!
“That’s why, I will be sharing a few pictures a day from fantastic young local artists to help spread positivity, hope and rainbow-coloured happiness across our constituency. With huge thanks to all the wonderful children and their families who have sent them in.”
All parents will also be contacted asking if their young artists would like a certificate to thank them for bringing their rainbows into the community.
