Gosport MP, Caroline Dinenage, is urging cultural and heritage organisations across Gosport, Hill Head, Stubbington and Lee-on-the-Solent to apply for government funding that she helped secure in her role as Minister of State for Digital and Culture.
The Cultural Recovery Fund, worth in total £1.57 billion, has already benefitted a range of local organisations from Fort Brockhurst and the Hampshire Cultural Trust (which includes Gosport Gallery & Search) to The Portsmouth Naval Property Trust, The Kings Theatre Trust and the Mayflower Theatre.
Applications for the second round of funding will close on January 26th. Grants between £25,000 to £3 million are available to cultural institutions through the Cultural Recovery Fund: Grants Second Round and heritage organisations could benefit from grants between £10,000 and £3 million to help them reopen safely to visitors, restrictions allowing, in Spring/Summer 2021.
Caroline commented:
“I am very pleased that over £1 billion of the £1.57 billion Cultural Recovery Fund has already been distributed, including to some of our fantastic local organisations, to help them tackle the unprecedented challenges that COVID-19 presented.
“Further funding is now available and I encourage all local cultural and heritage institutions who are eligible to apply.”
