From visiting national and local charities, community groups and organisations - including Age UK, the Sea Cadets and homeless charity Alabare - to hosting receptions in Westminster - such as for the Gosport Youth Council - to thank local volunteers, Caroline believes that voluntary organisations are the backbone of the Gosport Constituency’s community.
Among the local organisations Caroline supports are Loud and Proud, a voluntary group for young people to help others within the constituency with Motiv8 who work to improve the life chances of, troubled youngsters and families.
Local organisations link the community together and Caroline enjoys the opportunity to meet constituents across Gosport, Stubbington, Hill Head and Lee on the Solent. She therefore helped to launch both the Gosport Older Persons Forum and Gosport Men’s Shed. Caroline joined the campaign to save the Iona Club in Bridgemary, supporting the dialogue between the club's committee and the Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth, who own the building, the two parties reached a mutual agreement. As a result, the Iona Family Club once again been a fully functioning community hub.
To help support these vital charities and groups, in June 2018 Caroline helped launch the Gosport Community Lottery which supports local good causes. To buy your ticket with a 1 in 50 chance of winning click here.
With trepidation, for Gosport & Fareham branch of the MS Society, Caroline took to new heights as she skydived in July 2012 and abseiled down the Spinnake in May 2014 to fundraise for the charity.
